Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Diastola app and diastola.com handle information. Diastola is published by Hakan Demirkol (“we”).
The short version
Diastola does not sell your information, does not show ads and does not track you. Your blood pressure log and medication list are stored on your device. If you choose to use family alerts, only the details needed to deliver those alerts are sent to our server.
Information stored on your device
- Blood pressure readings, pulse, notes and tags you enter or import
- Medication names, strengths, schedules, and taken or skipped marks
- The first name of the person the log is for, and app settings
This information is stored in the app’s storage on your iPhone and in files the app keeps in its own folder (a CSV file and an archive file you can see in the Files app). It is included in your device backups under Apple’s terms. You can delete readings and medications in the app, and deleting the app removes its data from your device.
Apple Health
If you allow it, Diastola reads blood pressure readings that other apps or your cuff have saved in Apple Health, and can save the readings you type into Apple Health. Reading and writing are asked for separately, and you can change them at any time in the iPhone Settings app under Health. Information from Apple Health is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is never shared with third parties except as you direct (for example, when you share a PDF, or when a reading is included in a family alert you turned on). We do not store Apple Health information in iCloud.
Family alerts
Family alerts are optional. When you invite a family member, our server, hosted by Supabase, Inc., receives the information needed to deliver alerts: the person’s first name, the names, strengths and scheduled times of medications, whether each dose was marked taken or skipped, the most recent reading if you choose to include it, and notification tokens for the linked devices. This information is used only to send alerts and keep linked family devices up to date. A random key on each phone identifies the household; there is no account, email or password. It is not used for advertising or sold. When you remove a family member or turn family alerts off, the shared information for that household is deleted from our server within 30 days.
Notifications
Medication reminders are scheduled on your device. Family alert notifications are sent through the Expo push notification service (operated by 650 Industries, Inc.) and Apple’s push notification service. They receive the notification text and a device token only to deliver the alert.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are purchased and processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details. The app asks the App Store whether your subscription is active.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
This website
diastola.com does not use cookies or analytics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
If you email support@diastola.com, we use your message and address only to reply to you.
Children
Diastola is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can delete readings and medications in the app, remove family members, turn off Apple Health access, and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. To ask us to delete family alert information from our server, email support@diastola.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new date.
